Blue and Ivory Monogram Dress, Size 12-14 Years

This 1940's dress has a casual English country house sort of feel and looks perfect for a game of Badminton or croquet. The fabric is a blue and white uneven check, cut in a loose, comfortable shape with a pleated knee-length skirt. The square neckline and sleeves are framed in ivory fabric, which matches the crowning detail  - an elaborate corded monogrammed pocket. What does the monogram say? That's anybody's guess, and indeed it may have just been a design, but it is really beautifully done. 

It measures 33" around the chest, 28" around the waist and is 30" long from center back neck to hem, which correlates to a modern size 12- 14 years. Closes at the back with mother-of-pearl buttons. 

This dress is in very good vintage condition. There is a pinhole near the middle of the back which we have repaired and stabilized, so it is not noticeable. She is ready to be enjoyed by a new generation of sporty girls.
